Anchor Group was initially appointed Broker of Record for our Self-Funded healthcare plan. Ken Hutchings’, President and owner of the firm, involvement resulted in changing Third Party Administrators to an administrator that has deeper provider discounts which reduced our overall costs.
Anchor Group also marketed our Group Life and AD&D insurance, New York Statutory Disability converge, as well as our Short Term and Long Term Disability plans. The STD/LTD plans had a number of holes in them including an overlap of benefits with only a 2 year benefit period on the LTD. All these plans together cost $95,576 annually.
In marketing these benefits, Kiehl Hutchings was able to reduce the costs of these plans approximately 19%. In addition to the significant savings, the coverage was enhanced and the administration of these plans was significantly improved.

We contracted with The Anchor Group, LLC after completing and RFP for Employee Benefit Services. We have found both Ken Hutchings, President and Kiehl Hutchings, Vice President, to be readably available and anxious to help concerning issues pertaining to our Employee Benefit needs.
One of their specific responsibilities has been to develop and marketed an RFP for the County’s Employee Health Care program. Since they have been involved, the retention of the insurance company providing our fully insured plan has been approximately five percent compared to the average of fifteen to twenty percent. In conjunction with our Insurance Task Force, The Anchor Group, LLC has also developed, marketed, an implemented a successful voluntary dental program that our employees have been interested in for many years.
